It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert F. Herrick, affectionately known as Rob or Cheez, on December 9, 2023, at the age of 50. He departed surrounded by the love of his family at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, transitioning from this world into eternal rest.
Born on March 30, 1973, to the late Jean E. (Barden) and Wallace “Red” O. Herrick in Keene, Rob’s life was deeply rooted in his community. He received his education at Monadnock Regional High School, graduating with the class of 1992, shaping his formative years within the local landscape.
Rob found purpose and fulfillment through his dedicated service. He spent two decades contributing his skills and commitment to the New Hampshire DOT in Marlborough, dedicating himself to road work and maintenance until his retirement in 2022. His devotion and hard work left a lasting impact on the roads he helped maintain.
Prior to his role with the New Hampshire DOT, Rob served the Swanzey Fire Department, beginning as a firefighter and, through 30 years of dedication, ascending to the rank of Lieutenant. His tenure was marked by his unwavering commitment, exemplifying bravery, and selflessness in the face of adversity.
Rob Herrick’s legacy is woven into the fabric of the communities he served, leaving an indelible mark through his service and dedication. His passing is mourned deeply by his family, friends, and those he served alongside, who remember him for his unwavering commitment, hard work, and the positive impact he made during his lifetime.
